[DELETED] Ctrl+Alt+Del Comics

I was asked by Absath, the owner of the great and funny webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del, to immediately stop serving the unofficial RSS feed for his comic. His comic, his site, his rules, so the feed is gone. If you liked the comic, visit his site the old-fashioned way.

Damn... I liked that comic, but it takes too long to read my daily fix outside RSS (figuring out which was the last strip I saw etc...)

So I guess I have to agree with our anonymous friend :(

Best webcomic online and he doesn't even have an RSS feed. It's saddening. Oh well.

Absath is very... "anti-RSS" when it comes to his site. I find it sad, I've asked a couple of times, the question came up on the message boards a few times as well, and he just doesn't think a feed is necessary.

Well, too bad.

Is it so terrible to have to actually go to his site? I think CAD is a terrific comic and all his hard work is definetly work the petty effort on my part to go to his site and figure out where I left off.

That's not the point. The point is that ignoring RSS is foolish. And sad.

I mean, look at VGCats.com or Real Life (for example) -- I *love* these comics, but if it wasn't for the RSS feed I would forget to visit the sites ever again.

Now there is a feed, and I am notified when there is a new strip, and I click through to visit and read.

It's perfect. That's all I want. Doesn't take away ad revenue and doesn't give away intellectual property rights or whatever.

Why do you need to be reminded of when a new strip comes out? CAD has a new strip every monday, wednesday, friday and saturday, is that so hard to remember? And beyond that, how hard is it to place an easy to recah link somewhere to the page that takes you to "latest comic"? I mean come on, some of you people are taking laziness to a ridiculous and uneccessary new level.

If you like ctrl+alt+del so much, you should respect the fact that Tim Buckey (Author and Artist) prefers not to have an RSS feed, it's no big deal to be honest!
